INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after at least seven juveniles between the ages of 12 and 17 were shot outside Circle Centre Mall Saturday night. According to IMPD, shortly after 11:30 p.m. on March 30, officers patrolling the downtown area responded to shots fired heard near Illinois Street and Maryland Street. Officers arrived at the scene and located a group of juveniles, six of which had gunshot wounds.
IMPD says one of the victims was in critical condition, but was later upgraded to stable. All other injured victims were reported to be in stable condition. According to IMPD, a seventh juvenile later arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. They are reported to be in stable condition as well.
According to IMPD Deputy Chief Tanya Terry, all of the victims were between the ages of 12 and 17. Police believe there was more than one firearm involved in the shooting. IMPD says the shooting happened outside of Circle Centre Mall at the intersection of West Maryland Street and South Illinois Street.
Investigators remained at the scene early Sunday morning gathering more information. Police say they do not currently have any suspects in custody.
