The National Weather Service has published today's forecast, which includes a significant amount of severe weather covering the entire state of Iowa, and impacting large areas of Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. These areas are predicted to have Severe Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, Heavy Rain, and Flash Flooding. This will be a dangerous day containing multiple deadly storms. Keep your family close and don't forget to check on your neighbor if possible. Please monitor your local news media outlet for up-to-the-minute hazards and response recommendations.
IMPORTANT
When a Tornado Warning is issued for your area, take immediate protective measures. If safe to do so, shelter in a safe room, basement, or storm cellar. If no basement, shelter in a small interior room on the lowest level. Do not stay in an RV or mobile home, find shelter in a sturdy structure. Stay away from doors, windows, and outside walls. Do not shelter under an overpass or bridge, you're safer in a low, flat location.
